Sharon Cuneta on her marriage: ‘Aaminin ko may LQ pero OA yung mga lumabas na balita’

One of the most touching scenes during Sharon Cuneta’s birthday concert, Songs of My Heart: The Mega Birthday Concert, was a birthday message from her husband Senator Kiko Pangilinan and their kids Frankie and Miel. “Nung bumati si Kiko and yung kids ko, alam kong touched na touched yung mga Sharonians kasi wala naman silang winish… Kung minamahal mo yung idolo mo, kung ano’ng kaligayahan niya, [susuportahan mo] maging sa personal na buhay, hindi lang yung success niya sa career niya. Alam ko’ng tuwang-tuwa sila na makitang intact ang pamilya namin,” the Megastar said in an interview right after the concert last Friday, January 9.

Speaking of her family, the Megastar was pleased to say that she and Kiko have put the intrigues of 2008 behind them now. “Yes, [all is good]. At saka ang feeling ko ay sila ang gumawa ng intriga, tapusin nila. Marinig nga kung ano’ng ending nito. OA eh, OA talaga.” Sharon knows that the malicious allegations about the existence of Kiko’s supposed other woman and illegitimate child will die a natural death because it really is groundless and untrue. “[Ang lagi ko nga sinasabi] magbibigay na ako ng papremyo kasi puro na lang daldal, wala namang prueba. Ang daming ways para pakitaan nila ako ng [solid proof], may Internet and MMS. Pero hindi, masaya ako actually that we proved them wrong by not saying anything,” she proudly beamed.

Sharon, however, was also honest enough to admit that she and Kiko were having problems that were merely blown out of proportion when the said rumors came out last year. “Totoo, aaminin ko, may LQ (lovers’ quarrel) pero OA lang yung mga lumabas na balita. Nag-LQ lang kami [tapos] nagdrama ako,” she explained in between laughs. “Pero alam mo naman ang showbiz, [grabe mag-sensationalize ng balita]. Kaya lang nagulat lang ako nung nagsipanganakan na yung mga issues, yung biglang dahil daw sa babae [kaya kami nag-away]. Sabi ko, ‘Asan na ba? Diyos ko pitong taon na ‘yan [binabato sa asawa ko] hindi ko pa siya (the alleged other woman) nakikita!”

She feels disgusted because her detractors keep on involving innocent people in spite of her assurance that she and Kiko are still in love. “Kaya nga hindi yata’t ginayuma ako nito (Kiko) at parang nagkakacrush [pa rin] ako sa kanya. Yung dinadamay nila noon? Staff member namin na tahimik ang buhay, kawawa naman,” Sharon pondered.

Sharon is already preparing for her reunion movie with Richard Gomez under Star Cinema. “Ah hindi, ito talaga seryosohan kaya kailangan ko ng help ni’yo by praying for me. I need to really get in shape for my movie with Richard Gomez. And that is incentive enough because it’s a beautiful story that Star Cinema has prepared for us. After that I have a movie with Ate Vi (Santos). And then kami ni Judy Ann (Santos) lagi kaming nagkwe-kwentuhan, nangangarap together na magkaroon ng another project. Ang dami ko’ng kinoconsider na projects. May ipinapakiusap pa ako kay Direk Joey (Reyes) na gawin. I am very excited about my career now. And to all of you who are watching us on TFC, abangan ni’yo po ako, I’ll be having another US and Canada concert tour by the month of May.”

With all the success that she is continuously reaping, is there anything else that she wants to wish for on her birthday? “Hopefully, if God willing, after two or three movies, baka pagbigyan pa kami ni Kiko na magkaroon pa ng isang baby. Yun ang pinagpe-pray namin, if it’s really meant for us. Baby boy sana pero kung ano’ng will ni Lord. Kung feeling niya tama na yung mga anak ko, okay na yun. Pero sana may isa pa,” she answered.
